Sorry for the long post in advance! :biggrin: i have a 2007 mk5 golf gt 170bhp its done 60000 miles and were having trouble with the turbo. the problem started about 8 weeks ago, we noticed when warm the turbo boost would lose pressure and the boost needle would drop to about half when fully accelerating. I have a Golk MK5 1.4 Petrol, car has run smoothly for a year and a half with no problems at all. Yesterday, switched on the engine, started fine. After 2 seconds my dashboard (instrument cluster) cut out. All lights turned off, all meters set to zero (revs, speedo, petrol, temperature gauge). Basically the dashboard died.
The 2.0 TSI in EA888 form seems to suffer from timing chain tensioner issues but I think this was rectified around 2012. Earlier EA113 version (MK5 GTI etc) uses a cambelt which needs changing
