Jun 22, 2022. #1. I sat with my gba sp in my back pocket with the charger in, then the charging stopped working. It worked when I pressed down on it but I then got it resoldered now it doesn't charge at all even when I press it down it doesn't work. Should I replace the usb-c charging port entirely or any suggestions?

This means that a Japanese adapter will take 100v in, and put 5v out. That's 5% the voltage of the input. So, you plug that into a 120v source, and you'll get 6volts out. (120x5%). 6 volts could yes, fry your device. HOWEVER - if you get a North American adapter, it is wired to take 120 in, and 5v out.
My GBA SP does make sound, its just the charger port that has been acting up, I recently just cleaned the motherboard, and put some white vinegar on any rusty looking parts. So I don't know why its acting like this. Clean out the charge port with 99% IPA and a soft bristle toothbrush. This looks like dirty contacts.
