No better way to ruin combat than being backstabbed. Even if you roll away you still get teleported back to be stabbed. Heck I even jumped off a cliff once and still got teleported back even after I hit the ground. And I don't want to talk about the people that backstab you when your facing directly in front of them. Will admit not as broken as compared to Dark Souls 1. I just think it should

Critical strikes are backstabs and riposte. Backstab. Attacking an enemy from their back at close range will lead to a powerful backstab attack. Backstab attacks deal a huge amount of damage, so it’s always worth trying to do. The attack animation lasts for a short while, but you're invincible while in the animation.

I back-stabbed someone mid cast, and it still managed to one-shot me. My butt is ON FIRE. WATAUGACJ 11 years ago #5. Demon Great Axe + Darkmoon Blade+3 + Power Within + Hornet Ring = 1hko. For your stats tho a +15 rapier with all the buffs might come close.

Pvp in dark souls 2 in my opinion is the best out of the series, everything pretty much functioned exactly how it should, the only issue it ran into was the prevalence of slightly op meta builds. I would actually say that I enjoyed Dark souls 1 pvp the least, it was still fun but it was a little too "janky" in some aspects, back stabs being one

Essentially, if you have a super powerful slow weapon, the damage done would be greater for a regular attack than for a backstab. For elemental heavy weapons, a backstab would do pitiful damage. Rapiers and daggers would do the extra base, but their damage modifiers would be higher too.

This is why all your backstabs feel fair and most of someone else's feel bullshit. It's just the way games work when you play them online, it's just that Souls mechanics make you notice it more. It's unfortunate but unless you can solve the problem of updating the connection theoretically infinitely then there's no reasonable way to fix it.

Awesome, I'm on PS4 I'm down to practice whenever. I learned to parry by parrying the various knights and was able to translate that to PvP pretty well. I'm hoping to do the same for these backstabs. When I practice I'll probably use an unupgraded weapon.

In this video I cover the way the backstab mechanic functions in Dark Souls 2 and touch on some of the typical perceptions on how it can appear sometimes, mo take out backstabs. no way to punish poise stackers take out backstabs. no way to punish parry spamming taking out backstabs is a bad pvper complaint I have to agree with this. While acknowledging that I'm no champion PvPer, practice does make it easier to deal with constant backstabbing.
